The Miya River, renowned as Japan's clearest stream, is believed to be connected to the Isuzu River that flows through Ise Jingu Shrine. We woke early, walked around the Misedani Dam area and then explored upstream on a canoe that we booked through Verde Odai Tourism. When we drifted gently across the mirror-like surface of the lake, we encountered small waterfalls and caught glimpses of kingfishers here and there. I could empty my mind and immerse myself in the mystery of nature.

If you are a train enthusiast, then you will also be in for a treat when you see the occasional trains passing nearby! The air was crisp and clean, too, so it was truly refreshing.
