A BASE with Unforgettable Beauty Due to Preserved Nature
Tenjinzaki is famous and known as Japan's Salar de Uyuni. The flat cape stretches into the sea even at times other than low tide. It was my first time seeing this rare sight. The seamless beauty of the cape and the calm sea was moving. A mystical torii gate floats nearby in the shimmering sea. It was a place that purified my soul, making me want to offer a prayer of gratitude.

A Delicious Hidden BASE You Almost Don't Want to Share
I was excited from beginning to end at this restaurant. I don't know how many times I exclaimed, "Delicious!" as I understood why the celebrities in New York were charmed by the chef's sushi and dishes. The rare and local sakes paired perfectly with the sushi. The lively conversation with the owner, having a somewhat rock-n-roll spirit, added to the enjoyment. Next time, I want to bring my family to enjoy the experience.

A BASE to Feel Like a Local
I chose this shop aiming for Susami's local specialty wild boar-pig hybrid dish. While the restaurant looked intimidating, the staff welcomed me kindly. The man-pleasing, hearty roasted meat rice bowl and udon with a flavorful broth were rich but refreshing. The restaurant's retro Showa-era ambiance made me feel at home.

A BASE with a Kind Atmosphere Made by the Female Manager that Feels Like You've Been There Before
I felt relaxed when the kind manager welcomed me. I had the specialty Pacific saury sushi handmade by the proprietress. Since it was a chilly rainy day, the miso soup warmed my heart, reminding me of my mom's food. It was my first time eating Pacific saury pressed sushi. The vinegar rice was seasoned well, relieving my fatigue from visiting an unknown land.

A BASE You Wish Was Close to Home
This local supermarket offers fresh fish at affordable prices. They offer a variety of fish you may only see here, making it a fun place to shop. As a fish lover, I wish this store was near my home. They also have a selection of local sake from Wakayama. It would be perfect for a relaxing evening at the hotel, taking back some fish to go with local sake.
