Ikutora Station is famous as the filming location of a movie and an album cover. Everyone in the town is proud of this place, which is no longer used as a station but remains a tourist attraction. This is the only place that reminds me of the atmosphere of the Showa period, and I feel as if I have traveled back in time.

Enjoy the lake and lavender at the same time at this place. The best time to visit is from June to July. In the spring, the view is spectacular and quiet, even though you may hear people enjoying fishing and animals' voices from the mountains. There is also a campground nearby, which is perfect for enjoying the mountains.

You can rent electric hybrid bikes at Michi-no-Eki (roadside station) Minami Furano from spring to fall. Transportation is easy since these bikes are electric, and you can even go to the lake within a short distance away without any difficulty. It feels great to ride the bikes while enjoying the view of the lake and hills and feeling the wind! As you may even see some animals, you can enjoy a cycling tour typical of Hokkaido.

The cafe's exterior was magnificent, resembling a log cabin, and it reminded me of Christmas when I went there on a chilly day. I was excited even before entering. Of the ten pizzas available each day, their recommendations are the Genovese pizza and the Quattro Formaggi pizza! It was so delicious that I ate a whole pizza without hesitation! It was lovely dining here as the owner and his wife were so charming.

This cafe offers a morning set meal filled with Hokkaido's local produce, including a potato salad made with locally grown potatoes, a hot dog, and handmade jam. To a surprise, Hokkaido squirrels come to this cafe to eat breakfast! If you are lucky, you can enjoy eating breakfast while watching the squirrels. The Hokkaido squirrels are likely to be gone by 7:30 a.m., so waking up early is a must!

A 3D bench is placed right in front of the lavender field. Surprisingly, it only took about 30 minutes to make the bench! It is comfortable to sit on, so you will be sure to want to sit on it and relax on a beautiful day. It will be great if the lavenders are in bloom!
