Nikko one stroke dragon -Takase-
Tochigi Nikko
A BASE to Get Encouraged by a Unique Dragon Painting
Founded in 1954 on the Omotesando of Nikko Toshogu Shrine, the one-stroke dragon painting has been passed down for 70 years. Limiting not only to Japanese ink painting, the third-generation artist Fumiko Takase developed the technique of colorful ink painting. It's a breathtaking sight watching her paint the dragon's body in one stroke. Gold dust is blown to add the finishing touch, bringing the dragon to life, which is truly magnificent. The paintings are available for purchase, starting from a small card-size painting, to serve as a constant source of motivation at any time.

There are various types of ichinose-yaki, and it is said that at Marutagama, instead of glaze, they use salt glaze as a distinctive feature of their pottery. The sake "Hyakusyun" and "Sanyaho" are excellent products. They are brewed with the famous Nagara River water, selected as one of the best 100 waters in Japan, along with the climate and high-quality rice suitable for sake brewing. It is recommended to buy your souvenirs here.

Be Moved by the Deliciousness! A BASE to Go When You Want to Deliver Utsunomiya's Specialty to Your Loved One
Karinto manju is a deep-fried brown sugar bun filled with red bean paste characterized by its thick, crispy exterior. I tried one straight out of the pan and I discovered it was much different from the manju (steamed bun with red bean paste filling) I imagined! The exquisite brown sugar aroma from the freshly fried skin made me devour them one after another. It has the kind of delicious taste that goes beyond the traditional concept of manju. It was so good that I found myself buying more as a souvenir.

Nakanishi Peanuts
Nara Tenri Yamanobenomichi
A BASE to Find the Perfect Accompaniment for Your Evening Drink
Along the Tenri Kaido Road, there awaits a colossal peanut sculpture that marks the entrance to Nakanishi Peanuts. Step inside to explore an array of bean confectionery products on display. With approximately 11 varieties of my favorite kaki no tane (spicy rice crackers and peanuts) to choose from, the decision proved to be challenging. I opted for a regular and an extra spicy one to complement my evening drinks back at the hotel. Don't miss out on the opportunity to savor the delectable maple and nut ice cream right there at the store!

This is a rare granulated sugar containing 100% Tochiotome strawberries from Tochigi Prefecture that have been freeze-dried and crushed into large pieces.
