Soba Noodle Shop Marugo
Gifu Mino
A BASE to Satisfy Both Your Heart and Stomach with Delicious Soba Noodles
This soba restaurant is run by a couple who moved to this area 15 years ago, attracted by the Udatsu Wall Historical District. The firm, chewy noodles, made with 100% buckwheat flour, are served with a thick dipping sauce. The sauce is not too sweet but a little spicy, and the taste is exquisite! I especially recommend the luxurious deep-fried kakiage shrimp. The flavor of the shrimp filled my mouth with happiness.

Kozuchi River Port / Kawaminato Lighthouse
Gifu Mino
A BASE to Relax and Think about the History of the Nagara River
Mino once prospered as a gateway for the transportation of goods. The Kawaminato Lighthouse is a symbol of its prosperity. Sitting at the foot of the lighthouse and looking out over the Nagara River, which flows as it did in the past and still does today, I felt myself heal from the fatigue of daily life. At sunset, I felt as if I had stepped back in time to the Edo period.

HYAKUSHUN Sake Brewery Kosaka Shuzojo
Gifu Mino
A BASE to Find Japanese Sake from Udatsu-No-Agaru Machinami
This is a traditional sake brewery that has been around since the Edo period. The building is also from the Edo period, and I had fun just gazing at the historical interior. The sake "Hyakusyun" and "Sanyaho" are excellent products. They are brewed with the famous Nagara River water, selected as one of the best 100 waters in Japan, along with the climate and high-quality rice suitable for sake brewing. It is recommended to buy your souvenirs here.
